ABOUT
Connecting Through Music
From their love of classic rock n roll, modern power pop songs with killer hooks and acoustic love ballads reminiscent of 70's/80's radio, comes the new, but familiar songwriting duo of Grit & Grace. Steve "Jude" Walsh (Iron Bridge Band) and Chandler Mogel (Double Vision, Outloud, and Iron Bridge Band) embark on a new singer/songwriting project that draws from all of these sonic influences - creating songs with a fresh and different approach, while telling stories from the heart.
When we first began this songwriting journey a few years back, one of the biggest challenges was finding a band name that wasn’t already in commercial use—and that also captured who we are as people and as musicians. We wanted something that reflected our mix of Americana and rock influences, while also nodding to the balance of our personalities.
Grit & Grace felt like the perfect fit. Chandler’s voice has a natural grace and elegance, while Steve’s guitar work leans gritty and raw. Our writing styles—and even our personalities—mirror that same push and pull. Like most opposites that somehow work beautifully together, the combination has sparked music that feels both fresh and true to who we are.
Their debut album "Grit & Grace" features songs that cross over the Rock, Americana, Pop, Country and Contemporary genres and is a stylistic departure from their work with the classic rock influenced Iron Bridge Band. The album is also supported by several professional musicians across New Jersey, recorded and produced at Shorefire Recording Studios in Long Branch, NJ.
